Alaa Barakat, P.E.
Principal
His work spans from concept through construction, with proven skill in designing both gravity and lateral systems using materials like steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Islamic University) and an M.S. in Structural & Earthquake Engineering (San Francisco State).
He is experienced in structural modeling, finite element analysis, retrofitting, and code compliance across various jurisdictions. His portfolio includes complex renovations and ground-up developments, involving deep foundations, multi-story framing systems, and custom platforms for mechanical equipment. Mr. Barakat also excels in construction administration, structural observations, resolving RFIs, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, code-compliant, and efficient structural solutions. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of:
California
Oregon
Washington
Osvaldo Escalona, P.E.
Associate Principal
Mr. Escalona has contributed to and led major projects including Main & Marshall (Redwood City), America Center Garage & Amenity Building (San Jose), Oracle SC09 & SCA10 (Santa Clara), and the $2.4B San Francisco Airport Redevelopment. As Lead Design Engineer with Nucor Corporation, he directed multiple steel structure programs across Hawaii, Washington, Canada, and the western U.S., aligning fabrication, design, and constructibility. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Sacramento State) and an M.S. in Structural & Earthquake Engineering (San Francisco State), along with additional degrees in Engineering Technology, Electro‑Mechanical, Mechanical, and Computer Science—an uncommon multidisciplinary platform he applies to complex building challenges.
He currently serves as Head of the Engineering Department at San Joaquin Delta College and Faculty Advisor to SHPE and SkillsUSA chapters. A California‑licensed Civil P.E., he advances practice through custom engineering tools and standard design spreadsheets that elevate efficiency and quality.
Mr. Osvaldo Escalona is an accomplished engineer with 15+ years spanning mechanical design, structural engineering, and engineering education. His key technical strengths:
Steel, Concrete, and Wood Systems.
